When we built tinyEmail, a core focus area was to make one of the most fundamental things you would do in the product β€” create and send email campaigns β€” as easy and intuitive as possible. Send an email campaign with tinyEmail is what we like to say, a wholesome experience! Let us take you through it.

1. Enter the email campaign creation workflow

From your dashboard, click on any of the "create campaign" buttons. This will take you to the new email campaign creation workflow.

2. Pick the campaign and design tool

In the next step, you will pick the type of campaign you want to create. For now, it's only email campaigns with SMS coming real soon. Click on the "Email campaign" card.

3. Fill in your campaign details

This is where you fill in the most important details of your email campaign:

  • Campaign name: A unique and descriptive name for your email campaign.

  • Subject: This is the subject line of your email.

  • Preview text: A short message that displays below the subject line in the inbox of your subscriber

  • Sender: The identity of who is sending this email. Read the guide on setting up sender identities for more details on this.

When you are done editing the contents on this page, click on the Save button.

4. Pick your email design tool and template

On this screen, you will have the option to pick which email design tool you want to use β€” Drag & Drop or custom code. For the purpose of this guide, we will use the Drag & Drop option.

Next, you need to pick an email template to start with or create one from scratch. We will not go into the detail of how to design an email itself in this guide. For detailed instructions on that, view the How to use the Drag & Drop email editor guide.

There are several templates types you can choose from:

  • Saved: Templates you have designed before and saved into your template library

  • Staff picks: Our selection of the best templates from our library

  • Branded: Templates that are tailored to your business based on your Brand Kit

  • Basic: Powerful building blocks for any email design you can think of

  • Library: A growing library of stunning pre-designed templates

5. Design your email

Use our Drag & Drop editor to add different content blocks to your email. You can add various interactive components, visual and text elements. After you are done creating your email template, click on continue. Note that tinyEmail periodically saves your work. You can click on the clock icon beside your template name to see version history and restore to any of the saved versions.

5. Select your audience

Next step, you have to define which audience you want to send this campaign to. You will see your previously added audiences listed on this screen. You can pick one of them or add new.

See the guide on what are audiences and how they work for more on this topic

6. Review campaign details and schedule or send

This is what we call the launch Go/no go checklist. On this screen, you can review all the details of the campaign and make any final changes. You will be able to review all the critical parameters of your email campaign:

  • Campaign name/details - Campaign name, date and time of the creation

  • Send identity - who is sending the email

  • Design of the email - the template and edits you made to your content

  • Audience - who you are sending your campaign to

  • Auto-tracking - where we automatically append UTM parameters to your campaign links and track campaigns clicks.

  • Schedule - if the campaign is scheduled to be sent later, what is the date and time of the send.

On this page, click on the Setup button on the schedule (or send it now) row. Or you can also use the send dropdown menu at the top navigation panel.

Pick a date and time to send your campaign and once ready, click on the schedule button. This will turn the last checklist item on the screen to green with your picked date and time along with your local time zone.

7. Campaign confirmation and making changes after scheduling

Here you will get the confirmation that your campaign is launched if chose to send it right away or that your campaign is scheduled to be sent at your chosen date and time.

If you scheduled your campaign to be sent later, you can make more changes to it. Navigate your way to the dashboard, and from there, click on campaigns. Your scheduled campaigns will be listed under both the "All" and the "Scheduled" tabs. Click on the three-dot menu icon against the campaign and name and click edit if you want to make changes.

Clicking on edit will take you to the campaign details page where can modify any aspect of your email campaign and design.

And that is it β€” you have successfully created and sent or scheduled an email campaign with tinyEmail. πŸ₯³
